Understanding ADHD More Fully

Answers That Help Children Focus and Thrive

ADHD Testing for Children & Teens in Pasadena, CA

At Pasadena MindWorks, we provide thorough ADHD assessments for children and adolescents. Our evaluations not only clarify whether ADHD is present but also offer insight into each child’s unique thinking and emotional patterns, allowing us to create a personalized plan that highlights strengths and supports challenges.

Comprehensive Evaluations

We offer ADHD testing as part of our comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations, because inattention and executive‑functioning difficulties often occur alongside other challenges such as learning, processing, and emotional concerns. Targeted Evaluations

We also provide targeted ADHD evaluations. While targeted evaluations do not offer the same breadth of information as a full assessment—and may reveal the need for additional testing—they still provide the gold standard for ADHD diagnosis, incorporating cognitive testing, neuropsychological measures, clinical interviews, and behavior rating scales.

Understanding ADHD in Children:

When Everyday Challenges Become Persistent Struggles

Although occasional distraction or impulsivity is a normal part of childhood, children with ADHD experience these difficulties consistently and across many areas of life. If you’re concerned your child may have ADHD, you’re not alone—ADHD affects millions of children and teens. Because ADHD symptoms often overlap with other challenges, the disorder is frequently misunderstood or misdiagnosed. A thorough psychological evaluation is essential for understanding what your child is truly experiencing. The right assessment provides clarity, opens the door to appropriate treatment, and can improve academic and emotional success.

Common signs of ADHD may include:

  • Difficulty paying attention in class, finishing work, or staying engaged with tasks.

  • Losing assignments or belongings, trouble keeping track of materials, and disorganized schoolwork or routines.

  • Fidgeting, squirming, or difficulty staying seated or still when expected.

  • Interrupting others, acting without thinking, or struggling to wait their turn.

  • Frustration or emotional outbursts, especially when tasks feel challenging or overwhelming.

  • Daydreaming, seeming “checked out,” or inconsistent attention and performance across situations.
